Pulling dinosaurs out of a hat

Dave, I have a question about the Summon Nature's Ally spell. As it stands, you can choose from a restricted list that is similar to the basic set of possible Animal Companions. Since the spell is not Eberron specific, it doesn't include dinosaurs. As I will probably be getting level 1 ranger spells at some point, I wondered if it would be possible to widen the scope of available creatures to include (for the level I spell) Fastieth?

No really I think there needs sometimes to be little changes to the rules to include the Eberron setting

As the Fastieth is a CR 1/2 creature you can indeed summon one with Summon Nature's Ally I.
It is entirely possible to summon dinosaurs with this spell, as they are natural and there are several creatures in the list (PHB p.288) that are dinosaurs.
As you are native to the Talenta Plains where these reptiles are commonplace it stands to reason that they are perhaps more natural to you than say a wolf....
