The future of the game...

Hey guys.
Over the past few months I've tried to keep my game running, but for various reasons I have lost the inspiration and motivation to write and prepare for it. So with sadness I feel I must put it aside for an indefinite period.
This does however mean that friday nights will need a new game. I'm open to play anything. What are other peoples opinions?

Very sorry to hear that Dave, very much enjoy your game! Having said that, completely understand how much effort running a game can be, and I'm sure we all thoroughly appreciate all the effort you have put in over the last few years!

Indeed all seconded here. You put a load of work into the game and it shows. Here's hoping you get your enthusiasm back at some point and that we can twist Dave's arm into running something in the meantime.

I've fancied running a Delta Green game but only have a few ideas so it would be very short term and I'll need some time to re-read the rules.

How does thjat sound to people.

Otherwise I have a extremely vague idea for a Changeling game. To the extent I'm not even sure there is a game there

.... and my short notice doesn't help either

I'm willing to give anything a go. I don't feel that a game HAS to be long term. It just happens that previous Friday night games have been full campaigns.

Not too fussed for Changeling/White wolf stuff though to be honest!

Delta green is modern cthulhu. And I seem to recall mention of cyberpunk too

Delta Green is indeed modern Cthulhu, although I'd want to set it in the 1990's

Not really any ideas for Cyberpunk, I've got some published scenario's I haven't read for ages if anybody wants to run them

Though maybe the Changeling idea could be adapted to Cyberpunk but that wqould take time and work

Delta green is X-Files meets Cthulhu.

In fact the game I have in mind you will agents of the US government (probably all FBI for ease)

Changling/Cthulhu would be very low powered and is only a a seed at the moment

Sorry if that sounds like I'm being awkward lol, I just never liked Cthulu and not the greatest fan of White Wolf stuff.

I do have Stargate (d20) and Star Trek (d6 I think!) if anyone fancies running either of those?

Whilst I would prefer to play (ideally Cyberpunk, Dnd or Warhammer) I could possibly run some Oriental Adventures Dnd, or at least Dnd with an oriental flavour. But it is only fair to say that due to existing commitments, work, training etc, I cannot commit to put as much work in as I would like to running a game.

Well I presume due to dave's work commitments we will still be playing every fortnight

It had been a good decade or more since i'd ran a game before this one. I'm sure you'll be fine. I like the sound of Stargate, Oriental adventures or Warhammer too, but not Star Trek.

Work means I can't play every 3rd week...

Well, I had two vague ideas for games, but neither of them are Cyberpunk I'm afraid:

1. Runequest game set in heroic Greece

2. Space 1889

The latter would need rather more work than the former.

Don't know what it is, but Space 1889 sounds interesting.

It's a steampunk thing, sort of Jules Verne / HG Wells style 1889 where the great powers have colonies on Mars and Venus.

Just had a quick look ar space 1889. Its a nice idea, but at a glance the system looks a bit poor,.

It's an old system of course, and I was musing on adapting the background to a different system. Unless you're referring to the more recent one, which (I have been assured by someone who played it) is apparently dreadful.

Don't know which version it is, althouh I would guess at it being 1st edition. Just downloaded it to see what its like.

Yeah, my version's a pdf as well. Will have to get a real copy if we decide to play.

I think I would prefer to play either a true fantasy game - either Warhammer or DnD - or a good Sci-fi game - Cyberpunk, Babylon 5, Stargate.

I've never played Runequest so I can't make decision on that.
White Wolf and Cthulhu are both fine with me too.

I think my order of preference would be as follows:

1. Warhammer/DnD
2. White Wolf
3. Cyberpunk
4. Cthulhu/Delta green
5. Stargate or other Sci-fi

Alex would like to run a Warhammer game.

He can't make one Firday in every four.

Well I'm fine with that. The obvious question I think will be which edition, as I know there have been issues with the latest version. Not that I've ever really played either...
