Hi dave,
I checked and Ian is right there is a Ranger variant where at 2nd level you get Power Attack. If it is all right with you Ajax will take that

Ian is right, it is a strong arm style.However, in the Eberron 3.5 there is a ranger variant where instead of the combat style you get get +10 footspeed Is it all right if I take that instead?

Strong Arm style is fine. Not sure about the other though, i can't seem to find it...
If you could give me a bit more to go on that would be great. Generally speaking if it's in 3.5 WOTC then i'll probably be ok with it.

If you go to the Complete 3.5 SRD link on the Home page and open it then go 'Uneathred Arcana' to 'Class Variants' then to 'Core Class Variants' and finally 'Ranger: Simple Variants'. Its in there

Simple Variant

A ranger might forgo training in weapon combat in exchange for the ability to take animal form and move swiftly through the woodlands.

Gain
Wild shape (as druid; Small or Medium animals only), fast movement (as barbarian).

Lose
Combat style, improved combat style, combat style mastery.


This is fine, not sure if fast movement stacks, i think it does, if anyone can tell me that would be great. In the meantime i'll try to find out..

Ok i'm pretty sure fast movement stacks, however....

You may want to note that Wild Shape won't come into play until you are a 5th level ranger....
