| And the silkslick belt means you can attempt an escape artist check to escape a grapple or pin as a move action rather than a standard action. Also 1/day you can have +10 on escape artist checks. Hmm might be worth me putting more than one rank into escape artist then hehe. Unless anyone else has the skill? I have after all just purchased a healing belt! | |

| "Lightning Claw" is my poncey name for the shocking shortsword. It is very nice indeed, but unlikely to get much use now alas. Possibly against undead. | |

| Kapek, My thought would be you keep and use "Lighting Claw" in close range and "Desert Blade" at reach range?
Chris thanks sorry I didn't see the prequir so yer 24000 gp for Kapek !
If the Slicksilk belt is of better use to you Loric then maybe someone else could use your Healing Belt? Ajax has one, so yes maybe Katerina to unsure she can heal herself more often.

Desert Blade isn't reach, it's the Sharash that is a reach weapon. Also Katerina would like the Pearl of Power, after all another Cure Light could save the day.

| From DMG Pearl of Power: This seemingly normal pearl of average size and luster is a potent aid to all spellcasters who prepare spells (clerics, druids, rangers, paladins, and wizards). Once per day on command, a pearl of power enables the possessor to recall any one spell that she had prepared and then cast. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast. The spell must be of a particular level, depending on the pearl. Different pearls exist for recalling one spell per day of each level from 1st through 9th and for the recall of two spells per day (each of a different level, 6th or lower). | |

| My bad sorry, yes let Katerina have the pearl of power then, and so Kapek can't use the Lighting Claw and Desert Blade then? well not in the normal way that he does from reach to close as they are both close range. Maybe Katerina would be able to use the Lighting Claw short sword ? | |

| I,m fine wiith her having the +1 dagger, the Pearl of Power and the Amulet of Retributive Healing. This is after all the first magical gear she's got and none of it is any use to us | |

- A slight miscalculation on the cost of the tangat tho I think. Dessicating burst has dessicating as a pre-requisite, so it is a +3 weapon effectively, so 16k?
The Tangat is crafted for halflings by halflings. As they do not want those scummy Valenar elves getting hold of their spiffy items and using them against them, albiet as a kind of shiny dagger, the Talenta halflings tend to manufacture weapons that can only be used by halflings (this also increases the production rate). Therefore, for anyone wishing to use this weapon that is not of the wee folk a UMD check would be required, it also reduces the effective bonus of the weapon to a +2 for valuation purposes on the general market (although a halfling warrior may pay much more if the item is desirable enough). So in conclusion, yes it is a +3 weapon, and no it isn't worth 16k. Hope this helps

| So Davy if, I at some point wish to improve said Tangat it's a +3 weapon for the purpose of improving it? And so does it mean as it's not at 16k + already it's cheaper to improve? See not wishing to question your mighty DMness but surely lots of the things we picked up are worth less than they starting market price and maybe some will be worth more, but purely for the purpose of some measure of fairness within the group sharing of equipment the Tangat and everything else needs to be valued at creation/market price as normal. or the Warforged only stuff would for valuation pupose be worth less as it made for warforged only just like the halfling equipment ect ? just my thought on it. | |

Hmm, i understand what you're saying..... Therefore let me reconsider my first notes on the matter. The Tangat is a merely +1 weapon in the hands of any race other than halfling. The dessicating effect is only effective in the hands of our small friends. The total value of the weapon, for crafting/upgrading purposes is 18340 gp (as a +3 weapon). However, due to the fact that only halflings can use the dessicating effect (without a UMD check) the resale of the item COULD be substantailly less. My apologies for leaping in blindly and assuming a rule without checking up on it first . I hope this clarifies the matter.

| So to summarise: It's worth fuckloads as long as we don't try to sell it, which I can't imagine we were going to do anyway, or Kapek would have a fit hehe. So it only matters for working out how much loot Kapek got, or if he wants to upgrade it later. That about the gist of it? | |
