Shield fighter

Hi Dave,

I noticed the monk and ranger variants what about fighter ones there are some I've looked at from Dragon 310 I think it is, or something like that that has some nice shield based fighter stuff in it, would you take a look before we level up please.

I've had a look in Dragon #310 and the only shield based fighter i can find is the "Shield Bearer".
I'm fine if you want to look into this feature, but i'm not sure how good it is....

Right looking at them all, I'm thinking that I may take Bodyguard given my recent bargainings at the party and my bodyguarding of Katerina. The Cover ability is just what I was looking at being able to take. Take a look at it please see if it's ok. And taking a variant doesn't affect my ability to take Warforged sub levels does it?

Just reading the second paragraph under the fighter variants description it states that these are CORE CLASSES and therefore you would not be considered a Fighter you would be considered a Bodyguard, meaning that your Warforged fighter would not apply to the bodyguard class.

So i think i may have to ponder this awhile......
Chris is having similar ideas with his monk so I shall look into it for you........

Right, i've just had a read through and.....

... I'm fine with you taking the Bodyguard variant class.
As the Warforged Fighter levels are substitution levels, simply change the title to Warforged Bodyguard and it shouldn't impact the game balance as they are replacing class levels - if you see what i mean

Great well I'll take it so mmm skills I guess I need to re do skills points as I put my fighter skill points into craft which I can't get from Bodyguard?
